The valley of the Jizera River is a scenic valley surrounded with rock ridges. It is some 3 km long.

The Riegerova Stezka is marked along the right bank of the Jizera River from Semily to Železný Brod. The trail is in part carved in the rocks; another part is led along a suspended, 80-metre-long railway gallery. The railway running through a series of tunnels (total length 743 m) is a technical rarity. One of the tunnels at the right bank of the Jizera is 1,300 metres long and supplies the water from the Jizera to the electric power plant under Spálov.
